Aradhana is presenting the annual S V Ranga Rao Memorial Swarna Kankanam to Kaikala Satyanarayana, on 3rd July, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorioum.
Late S V Ranga Rao was one of the best actors the Telugu film industry has ever had. He is known for his versatile style of dialogue delivery and for his mythological roles. Satyanarayana is almost an alter ego, and this then is perhaps one of the most befitting awards.
Kaikala Satyanarayana is a veteran actor, born in 1935. With a career in the film industry spanning four decades and more than 700 movies, he established himself as a versatile actor, having portrayed a variety of roles in the mythological, villain, comedy and soft genres, in his very special way. He is the king of all nine rasas, and hence the title Navarasa Natanaa Sarvabhouma is added to his name.
On this occasion, highlights of some movies in which S V Ranga Rao and Satyanarayana have acted separately will be shown, followed by a one-act play of Duryodhana by Nandi Awardee Master Kaushikbabu.
The chief guest for the evening will be K Rosaiah, Finance Minister of AP. The other guests for award ceremony are Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, ex-central minister; Nagababu, cine actor and president of Movie Artists Association; P Vijay Babu, editor of Andhra Prabha; C Ramachandraiah, Rajya Sabha member; Dr. Srihari, actor; Tammareddy Bharadwaj, director; Dr. Brahmanandam, comedian; and S V Ranga Rao, grandson of late S V Ranga Rao.
