In an effort to promote the street drama associations all over the state, the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with Praja Natya Mandali, is conducting a 4-day state-level street play festival. The annual festival focuses on helping women and the youth, creating jobs and patronising the arts.
Praja Natya Mandali, which started with 20 people in 1990, has about a 20,000 strong workforce today who help in developing the arts in the rural regions of the country. Some of the plays that are going to be staged during the festival are Veeragandham, Hallabol, Manne Viplavam, Elementary Education and Bharatamma Ekkada.
