This week, director Leila learns all about the eldercut.
Hyderabad Film Club, in collaboration with the Cosulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hyderabad, is presenting the screening of Pendar.
Pendar is the story of a village teacher, also named Pendar. She looks on life as a place to learn and teach. Her life goes on with children, happy and content. Finally she retires. But her students don't know what the meaning of retirement is, and are hard-pressed to make adjustments in their daily routine.
Leila Mirhadi started her career as a teacher in a primary school. She did some research for the Ministry of Education. In 1981, she started her cinematic activities at the Institute For The Intellectual Development Of Children & Young Adults. She made her first film, 'The Morning Is Poem' in 1981.
Mirhadi is already credited with films like 'The Imagination's Mirror' (1992), 'Hear It From Clay' (1994), 'Lesson At Dawn' (1994), 'Lullaby' (1996), 'Last Bank', and 'Earthquake' (1997).
