Noted painter from Mumbai, Mr. Anand Panchal, is showcasing his paintings on the theme of Rural Habitats in the city from 15th Feb upto 24th Feb. The main aim of the artist is to put on canvas, the simple lifestyles of the people living in rural regions of the country by depicting them in their various activities and also in their styles of living. The 31 paintings on display are of Acrylic base and most of them feature a small girl going through her daily routine of work in a village backdrop.
The paintings also depict a cow representing the sacred 'Kamadhenu', thereby symbolizing the Hindu mythological roots that Mr. Panchal portrays in almost all his paintings. The subtleties of life are also put on canvas very expressively by showing the connection between spirituality, daily activities and how rural peasants live their days by these mundane activities throughout their life, yet without a complaint. Mrs Ratna Rao Shekar, noted art critic, inaugurated the event.
