On the occasion of the 84th birth anniversary of Late Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), Kinnera Art Theatres is organising a musical nite of NTR-Ghantasala hits by P V Ramana and group from Kakinada, on 28th May, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. Ramana, along with his troupe from Kakinada, will sing some old hits of the NTR-Ghantasala combination during the 2-hour concert.
Some of the songs will be Kotaloni Monagada from Gopaludu Bhoopaludu, Lechindi Nidra Lechindi from Gundamma Katha, Mabbulo Emundi from Lakshadikari, Manchini Marichi from Oke Kutumbam, O Bhavi Bharata Paurulara from Pelli Chesi Choodu and Entaghatu Premayo from Patala Bhairavi. The chief guests for the evening are film director M S Reddy and the first female Telugu playback singer Rao Balasaraswati Devi.
Kinnera Art Theatres was started in 1977, and has since organised various programs, including musical nites, classical dances/vocals, felicitations and releases of books. It has served as a platform for many upcoming artistes, and at the same time provided the necessary recognition and appreciation for the established ones. Dr R Prabhakar Rao, IPS, is the chairman of the association, while M Raghuram is its dedicated secretary.
