Young Satyanarayanan, all of 21 years, is going to sing old Hindi film songs.
So what is going to be different? A classical touch.
Satyanarayanan is a self-made singer, and doesn't have any guru. He learnt just
by playing the harmonium, and could decode the notes himself. And he doesn't believe
in specializing in any one genre of music - he sings Carnatic and classical Hindustani
with equal eclat. He has already given performances at the Hari Hara Kala Bhavan,
where he sang Carnatic tunes with a mixture of Hindustani, the Birla Mandir, the
IISKON, and the Shankar Bhakta Sabha.
This event will have him sing old Hindi melodies that he has selected due to specific
ragas that they have. Satyanarayanan feels that due to being a part of films,
such songs, though capable of being rendered with all swaras, are truncated to
4-5 minutes. In this performance, he is going to provide the classical touch and
sing them with all the swaras for a complete rendition. You'll get to hear melodies
originally sung by Lata, Rafi, Talat, Mukesh and more. So be there!
