The gelid winters of Budapest couldn't dampen Elsa Tabore's optimism, until she discovered that she was a Jew in dangerous times.
The Hyderabad Film Club, in collaboration with the Association For German Culture, Hyderabad, presents the screening of the German film, My Mother's Courage. The movie is about Elsa Tabore, an ordinary woman busy in her household chores. She refuses to acknowledge the menace of the Third Reich and the diffusion of its ideology in the Europe of the mid-twentieth century.
One day she starts for her sister's house, but lands up on a train deporting the Jews, arrested and humiliated. Elsa's faith and courage are tried to the limit as she grapples with the reality and tries to find her way out of the situation.
