The Alliance Francaise de Hyderabad will present an assortment of documentary
films as part of its monthly Wednesday Video Club shows, which portray various
themes ranging from the life of the maintenance staff working night and day in
the world famous Eiffel Tower to the unfolding of the eclipse of August 11, 1999.
You will get a chance to walk through the gardens of the Château de Versailles,
Parc Monceau, Les Buttes de Chaumont, Parc Montsouris etc.
Today, in the Norman village of Caux, all await the eclipse of August 11, 1999. The film is built around the event as it unfolds with astronomers ambling in the pastures, tourists wearing strange goggles and homespun philosophers commenting on the eclipse. A moving and joyous film, it speaks about nature, the place remaining in the world today for country-folk and the lifestyle of the free.
