The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. is organising an exhibition of Lepakshi's Heritage Collection - 2010, from 5th to 14th February, at the Kalinga Cultural Centre on Road No. 12, Banjara Hills.
About 70 artisans from all parts of the country are displaying their collection. Among the artefacts on display are soft wood toys and dolls from Kondapally, Nirmal and Etikoppaka villages; hand paintings from Cheriyal, Nirmal, Kalahasthi; and batik styles, puppets and lamp shades in leather and metal castings; sheet metal artware in brass and bidriware; carvings in wood and stone media; crochet laces; Kalamkari block prints of Machilipatnam style; cotton durries, silver filigree, Banjara tribal embroidery, and silver jewellery .
The exhibition will also have artisans displaying and selling the unique sarees and dress material from Mangalgiri, Narayanpet, Siddipet, Venkatagiri, Gadwal and Pochampally, as well as Kalamkari prints.
