Shilparamam, as part of the on-going Sari Mela, is organising a devotional song recital by G S Laxmi Parthasarathy, on 4th October.
Laxmi, alongwith A Parvati Nageshwara Rao and N C Rama Phani Sai, will be presenting songs based on Narayana Tirtha Tarangalu, Annamacharya and Ramadas keerthanas, and some old traditional songs like Narayanathe Namo Namo, Annitiki Idhe Paramaushadham, Mamu Brovavadhe and Narahari Namaka.
The accompanying orchestra for the recital is M V Subrahmanya Prasad on the mridangam and Nagamalleshwar Rao on the violin.
Laxmi Parthasarathy is the daughter of the renowned singer Dr Manchala Jagannatha Rao, who is a graded artiste of the AIR. Laxmi also frequently performs for the AIR and Doordarshan. She learnt singing from her father at a young age, and went on to give various concerts, mostly devotional songs with her group of eight friends.
