REVIEW FOR KUCHIPUDI RECITAL BY STUDENTS OF SIVAPRASAD FROM ANANTHAPUR
Most of our metrosexuals seems to be pretty keen on being in touch with their feminine sides nowadays. The Ardhanareshwar avataar of Shiva caught on to this trend eons ago. This half male and half female form of Shiva is that perfect blend of the universal yin and yang, one that Shiva adopted when he did not want to part with Parvati anymore. They say Mona Lisa is Leonardo Da Vinci's androgynous Ardhanareshwar projection. Hmmm. It seems you have to do something whacky like this to prove you are an evolved man.
Ardhanareshwar Venkat, as the name implies, is a Kuchipudi artist who specializes in the Ardhanareshwar depiction of lord Shiva in his performance. This multi-accolade winning artist has toured the world over and performs at the Thyagaraja Gana Sabha after one such triumphant tour. This Nritya Darpan awardee will perform with his disciple, following which he will be felicitated with a number of other performers and artists.
