Lasya Priya is organising a Kuchipudi recital By Sindhoora Murthy on 14th October, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. Starting the recital with an Oothukudu Venkata Subbaiar's Ganesha Stuthi, Pranavakaram Siddhivinayakam, Sindhoora will proceed to a Shivastuthi, Shivudu Vachendu Nedu Choodu, followed by Annamacharya's Sri Venkatesuni Singaram Varninchite, Tiruyur Rajagopala Sarma's Krishnavarnam - Ninne Ne Neranamminamura, and some Devi Stuthis, such as Alathur Vijaykumar's Padam - Umamaheshwari, Dr. C Narayana Reddy's Saraswati Stuthi - Sangeetha Sahitya Samalankrite, Dr. Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad's Devi Soundarya Lahari, and finally Yathi Narayana Teertha's Tarangam - Jaya Jaya Durge Jitavairi Varge.
The orchestra for the recital is by Dr. Uma Rama Rao with the nattuvangam, D S V Sastry with vocal, Rajagopalacharya on the mridangam, Ashok Gurjale on the violin, Dattatreya on the flute and Rayaprolu Sudhakar on the veena. All the dance items have been choreographed by Dr. K Uma Rama Rao.
The guests for the evening are Padmabhushan and Gnanpeeth awardee Dr. C Narayana Reddy, film directors Padmasri K Vishwanath and Manishankar, and the Director of Department Of Culture Dr. Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad.
Sindhoora Murthy is a student of Lasya Priya and a disciple of Dr. K Uma Rama Rao, director and very senior Kuchipudi dancer. Lasya Priya is a renowned dance institute in Hyderabad, founded by Dr. Uma Rama Rao in 1985. She imparts training in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dances.
