REVIEW FOR KUCHIPUDI EN LUMIERE - KUCHIPUDI BY HALEEM KHAN
Kuchipudi dancer Haleem Khan is presenting "Kuchipudi En Lumiere", on 3rd December at La Makaan. He is going to regale his audiences with his versatile presentation, switching roles between female and male.
An MBA graduate, Haleem Khan was trained in Kuchipudi from a tender age, and has given more than 300 performances in India and abroad. He has a number of experimental choreographies to his credit, one of which, "Melange of Dances" (an experimental dance ballet), merging Western classical Dance with Kuchipudi, was supported by the Alliance Francaise and the French Embassy. This program toured major cities in India, and met with great appreciation and applause.
Khan also conducted a workshop on the fusion of Kuchipudi with Flamenco, along with the famous Spanish dancer Maria Pages and her team. He also choreographed and performed "A Fusion of Kuchipudi and Thai Traditional Dance Khon and Lakon Nai" along with a team from Thailand.
True to the tradition of Kuchipudi, Haleem Khan dons the role of female characters occasionally, enriching the character with his graceful movements and feminine charm. As a male dancer, his art is vibrant, while his vigour and vitality are unrestrained.
The event starts at 8pm, and entry tickets are priced at Rs. 50 per head available at the venue. Please contact 98662-74965 for further details.
