It'd be difficult to say whether Rachita read that adage as all dance and no
study or as all study and no dance. Whatever way, she's now so good at both, she's
nowhere close to being dull, either herself or to people around her.
Rachita Varma is an 18-year-old girl born in India and settled in the US. She has been learning Kuchipudi since she was six, and is the disciple of Mrinalini Sadananda of Kalamandapam, USA. She has also taken part in dance dramas like Sarvam Vishnumayam, Ramayana and Andal Kalyanam numerous times along with many other programs. She is currently choreographing "Amrapali", a dance drama, for the Durga Temple in Virginia University.
The high school graduate excels in academics, too. She has been awarded a merit scholarship to pursue a duel degree in International Business and Finance at Ohio University in USA. And she has also participated in various extra-curricular activities in the US. Rachita originally belongs to Bihar, and is coming to Hyderabad to perform for the first time here.
