It's the last-but-one day at the Shilparamam sari festival specials, and the grand finale has already begun. Chitra teaches dance at a school, but today she'll be teaching a whole audience.
Shilparamam, as part of its ongoing sari festival, is organising a Kuchipudi dance recital by M V Chitra, on 7th October.
The recital will feature some solo items like Vatapi Ganapathim Bhaje, Govardhana Giridhari (which will be a Tarangam), Ushadaru, and, finally, Dr M Bala Murali Krishna's Thillana.
Chitra is a disciple of P B Krishna Bharathi, and has an MA and an M Phil in dance from the Hyderabad Central University. She has given innumerable performances in India, and also one at Dubai. Her Dubai performance was on the invitation of Prapancha Telugu Maha Sabha, and was received with accolades. She is at present teaching dance in the Sarathi Dance School in Habsiguda.
