On the occasion of the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day, Shilparamam is presenting a patriotic ballet titled Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepudanda by the disciples of Maddali Usha Gayathri, on 1st November. The dancers participating in this ballet are Lakshmisri, Shwetha, Shravya, Veni, Neeraja, Ramyapriya, Bhavani, Abhirami and Koundanya.
The ballet is a tribute to the formation of the state and its development since then. It starts with the song Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepudanda written by Shankarambaadi Sundarachari, and ends with Vande Mataram written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The choreography and nattuvangam for the ballet are by Maddali Usha Gayathri, and the vocals are by Srivalli Sharma. Bhanuprasad on the mridangam, Anil on the violin, Rayaprolu Sudhakar on the veena and Venkatesh on the flute complete the rest of the orchestra.
Maddali Usha Gayathri is a disciple of late Vedantam Jagannatha Sarma and late Yelleswarapu Surya Prakasa Sarma. A disciplined and traditional Kuchipudi dancer, she has performed extensively both in India and abroad earlier, but has now settled as a teacher teaching budding artistes at her dance school Nritya Kinnera. She occasionally performs in dance ballets along with her students, which she choreographs - her favorite is Yashoda Krishna. She is a recipient of the prestigious Hamsa Award from the Government Of Andhra Pradesh.
