The first impression is always the best, they say. Let's not get into the fundamentals of that statement because the first time we ever look at ourselves, we're, invariably, all naked with a gooey fluid oozing out of our nostrils and our front teeth missing. But still we love ourselves, don't we?
Anyway, the first time is always a special moment, and if it's your first stage performance, then all the more reason to feel special.
Ch. Amy Kumar, at the tender age of 13, has already given over a dozen unofficial performances. Still a student of Kuchipudi with Smt. P B Krishna Prabhakar, she also plays the Veena fluently.
And that's how her Arangetram will start off. With her rendering her skill-sets on the Veena for about an hour. Then, she'll get into what she's exceptional at - Kuchipudi. Her performance will showcase all her abilities at this highest level.
Witnessing will be the giants of Andhra arts such as C Narayana Murthy (the Chief Guest), J Anuradha and other dignitaries. Attend the baptizing ceremony of another budding talent and give her all the encouragement she deserves.
