REVIEW FOR KHADI EXHIBITION AT FABINDIA
Fabindia brings us the latest in fashion made from one of the oldest and now, the hippiest fabrics, our very own Khadi. Fabindia presents ‘Expressions in Khadi’ – an exhibition of garments for men, women and children at its stores in Hyderabad.

In shades ranging from subtle earth tones to vibrant hues, this block-printed collection of delicate lehriyas, smart stripes, amris, mughal floral patterns & geometrics is made of khadi specially woven to a fine count on the amber charkha.

From casual to office to party, this collection makes a statement as individual and distinctive as the fabric itself. A completely natural and eco-friendly fabric, khadi’s uniqueness lies in the manner of its creation - hand-woven on a spinning wheel using hand-spun yarn from natural fibres.

While hand spinning imparts a soft twist to the yarn, the weaving process interlaces the yarn to create a fabric that breathes. It is this quality that gives the fabric its distinct character & makes it one of the most comfortable fabrics ever.

Fabindia was founded in 1960 to market the vast and diverse craft traditions of India. Their products are sourced from villages all over India thereby helping to provide and sustain rural employment. It is a leading retailer for Indian Textile and Home products encompassing a wide ranges of men's, womens and childrens' garments, home furnishings, bed, table and bath linen, furniture, organic foods and bodycare products.

The major portion of Fabindia’s product range is textile based. Non-textile introductions to this range are Home Products (introduced in October 2000), Organic Food Products (introduced in July 2004) & Fabindia Sana – Fabindia’s range of authentic bodycare products (introduced in March 2006).

The textile-based product range includes ready-to-wear garments and accessories for men, women, teenagers and children; bed, bath, table and kitchen linen; floor coverings, upholstery fabric and curtains. Cotton, silk, wool, grass, linen and jute are the basic fibres used. Holding these major product lines together is the company’s commitment and compliment to the rural and crafts sectors of India.
