Sandeep Narayan, aged 25, is currently a disciple of the south Indian vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanyan. He started his initial training in vocal music at the age of 4, under the guidance of his mother, Shubha Narayan, and began his advanced training under the musician and musicologist, the late Calcutta K S Krishnamurthy, in 1996, and has continued to sharpen his skills under Sanjay Subrahmanyan since 1999.

Sandeep is a ‘B-High’ graded artist of All India Radio Chennai, and is a recipient of the Indian Fine Arts Society’s ‘Best Sub-Senior Vocalist Award’ for the 2008 December music festival. He has performed solo and jugalbandi concerts all over the United States as well, giving concerts in Los Angeles, Cleveland, San Francisco, San Jose, Denver, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Santa Barbara among other places.
