Subrahmanya Prasad is teaching about 150 students at any time. Yes, it can't be fun - and so, today he's decided to have some on stage himself.
Shilparamam, as part of the Navaratri festivities, is organising a jugalbandi by M V Subrahmanya Prasad and group, on 27th September.
The jugalbandi will be paired thus: M V Subrahmanya Prasad on the mridangam with Naguri Babu on the flute, Nanda Kumar on the sitar and Vishnu on the tabla. Together, they will be presenting Mahaganapathim, Samaja Varagamana and about 4 Annamacharya Keerthanas.
This program is being presented by M V Subrahmanya Prasad, who is a M A in music from the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. Having established Lasyalaya Institute of Music and Dance in Tarnaka about 10 years ago, he teaches mridangam along with two of his associates who teach dance and vocals. The institute has about 150 students learning various arts of music. Prasad has performed in most parts of Andhra Pradesh as an accompanying artiste to Carnatic vocalists.
