The National Memory Council of India (MMCI), an independent body that works on the development of memory techniques, is conducting its 1st National Memory Championship on 11th October, at Hitex. The championship will be on from 8am to 6pm.
The preliminary rounds of the contest will involve 10 types of memory tests, including the memorising of random numbers, binary numbers, date and day conversion, playing cards sequences, historic dates, and names of faces.
The prelims will be conducted in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Kochi. Those who qualify in the preliminary rounds will be eligible to participate in the final event on 27th and 28th November in Bhatinda.
The National Memory Championship will see the participation of educational institutes, colleges, and schools, and by people of all ages from 8 years onwards, and from all regions. Winners of the championship will be eligible to participate in World Memory Champioship-2009 to be held in London.
