Here's the Indian Consumer Exhibition (ICE) 2005, a one-stop destination for products ranging from domestic appliances, furniture, and crockery to banking and IT services. Over 200 domestic and foreign companies' products are being featured in this annual mega sale.
What makes this event one of the most sought after for sales is, the rebates announced on almost all the products. No, this is not duplicate maal, the products are far from the chor-baazaar types. These guys wouldn't have hosted this sale throughout India if they had such dubious products, would they?
Drawing more than 50,000 people each year to its show, the ICE is bound to endanger your earnings, whether you like it or not.
My visit to the much touted ICE was a sore disappointment. While the fyllhyd.com site says itis free entry, the charge is Rs. 25/ per. But that's not my peeve. It is so nosiy due to the badly installed AC system. Then you have touts accosting you as if it was a pavement on Koti or some such bazaar. I feel the ambience in an exhib. should be different. The displays were also of a poor standard. If we hold it every year then things must be better each time. It is not just setting up a shop and overcowd it with too many sales people who wont even let you browse in peace! We should organise better; like the Pragati maidans in Delhi.
