The Indian School Of Business inaugurates what will definitely be one of the bigger B-School marketing fests around the country. ikshaa was initiated in the year 2004 by the Marketing Club at ISB and aims to be an annual summit where prominent marketers share their perspectives on contemporary issues . The term literally means ‘Looking Ahead’ . ikshaa will serves as a meeting ground for industry professionals and students to interact and share ideas.
The theme for ikshaa 2006 is “Marketing in the Year 2020 –Are Companies Ready?” The inspiration for the topic is the Planning Commission’s paper – India Vision 2020. According to the report, in the next 15 years Indians will be better fed, dressed and housed, healthier, more educated and longer living than any generation in the country’s long history. Illiteracy and all major contagious diseases would have disappeared. These changes in the Indian consumer’s demographics and in turn psychographics, will change the way we market to them. The marketers who dominate in the future will be the ones who can visualize and adapt themselves to ride this wave.
ikshaa 2006 will aim to understand these changes and more importantly the strategies and plans, companies are deploying to deal with this change.
The speaker list is distinguished and diverse. They are the people who define the course of product categories such as FMCG, Consumer Durables and Fashion. There will also be two of the most prominent marketing professionals in India who regularly consult and advise these top marketers.
