REVIEW FOR HOWRAH HOWRAH - A SHORT FILM FROM GERMANY BY TILL PASSOW
The Goethe Zentrum, Hyderabad chapter is organizing 'Short and Sweet' - A Short Film Festival, comprising a series of acclaimed short films from Germany that have won accolades and awards, the world over. The German center has selected the crème de la crème of short films for all film lovers.
Howrah Station is the central railway station in Kolkata and is one of the biggest stations in Asia. It's not only and important junction for travellers and the trasportation of goods, but Howrah also stands for the cycle of life in Indian metropolises. It's a place of extreme opposites and of extraordinary intensity - so full of life, movement, joy and suffering.
Howrah, directed by Till Passcow was created as a part of an exchange program initiated by the Goethe-Institut between the Film and Television Academy 'Konrad Wolf and the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata.
The film won several awards including Best Documentary and Best Film Editing at the Chilean International Film Festival of Santiago and Berlin International Short Film Festival.
