Sick and tired of remixes? Check out this live jugalbandi of the keyboard, sitar, and tabla. Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Hyderabad, presents a Grand Music Recital Of Hindustani Classical Music. Doing the jugalbandi will be Seetha Ramaiah of Hyderabad on the keyboard and Subrata De of New Delhi on the sitar, accompanied by ‘Tabla Ratna’ Najmuddin Javed of Hyderabad.
The music show will be held on 10th September at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Basheerbagh, Hyderabad.
The program starts at 5:45 PM with an Introduction to the programme, and felicitation to the artistes at 6:30 PM. The actual recitals would start at 6:30 PM with V Seetha Ramaiah, Subrata De, and Najmuddin Javed. The trio would be presenting a few raagas of the Hindusthani Classical Music.
The chief guest for the program is Jnanpith Awardee, Padmabhushan, Dr C Narayana Reddy, Ex MP, The legendary Cine poet of the Golden Cine-Era.
V Seetha Ramaiah, BA(Lit), LLB, MBA, (Keyboard), an Inspector of Customs & Central Excise, is an AIR auditioned artist, a solo-performer playing full versions of old Hindi and Telugu film-songs. He also does Hindustani Classical Music, with rhythms on the keyboard.
Subrata De, a sitar player from New Delhi, was born in a musically endowed family in 1970 in Jamshedpur, studied music and learnt to play sitar under the guidance of Amarjeet Singh of Jamshedpur at the tender age of seven.
Najmuddin Javed of Hyderabad is a very promising young Tabla player. He is a solo performer who presents master-work of many Gharanas, and also an uncanny accompanist who has played alongside legends like Ustad Bismilla Khan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt Birju Maharaj, Ustad Imrat Khan b/o Ustad Vilayat Khan, Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Ghulam Ali, Mehdi Hassan, Sivaman, Mr Loiu Banks and the like. The title ‘Tabla Ratna’ was conferred on him by ‘Ghantasala Gana Sabha’ headed by Dr KV Rao, Hyderabad, recently.
