Rattan Mohan Sharma, along with Sanjay Abhyankar, has been the much anticipated protegee of Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj. Of course, the unique niche he has carved for himself also leaves a lot to talk about, apart from that.
He is an A- Grade artist of All Indian Radio (AIR) and has been the proud recipient of the prestigious Shankar Raos Vyas award, Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj rotating trophy. Mewati Gharana gaurav puraskar, Sur Ratna Award and Sur Mani, among others. He has a rich voice and excellent control of sur, laya, and clear diction. He is adept in all forms of classical music like Khayal, Tarana, Havelisangeet and Dhrupad but also in light classical forms like bhajan tappa, etc and even folk music like Rajashthani Folk. Rattan has made inroards into the “fusion music” arena by performing and recording for with International groups “ Disrhythmia” abroad. Rattan has proved to be a successful music directorand composer giving music to a number of Tele- serials and private albums.
