Heritage Collection 2008 - an exhibition-cum-sale of Lepakshi's handicrafts & handlooms, is being held at Kalinga Cultural Trust, from 7th Nov to 16th Nov. The event is being organised by the AP Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, and sponsored by the Ministry Of Textiles, Govt. Of India.
The display contains various handicrafts, such as soft toys; dolls from Kondapally, Kutch embroidery, Hyderabadi pearls, antique furniture, pottery, cotton durries and leather articles. Handloom materials, including handwoven saris from Pochampally, Gadwal and Venkatagiri, Kalamkari block prints from Machilipatnam, saris and dress materials from Mangalagiri, cottons from Orissa, silk saris from Bengal, Jaipur prints, Banaras saris, bedsheets and Tussar silks, are also displayed here.
Wooden carvings and exclusive silver furniture collection are the other attractions at the exhibition.
