The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, in association with the Hyderabad Film Club, is presenting Australian Visions, a festival of acclaimed Australian films, from 8th to 10th March, at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre. A total of 8 films will be screened during the film festival.
Today, the 2nd day, Harvie Krumpet will be the first of 4 movies to be screened. The film is directed by Adam Elliotk, and has the voices of Geoffrey Rush, Julie Forsyth, Kamahl and John Flaus.
Harvie Krumpet is a short animation movie which won 17 prizes, including the Oscar for Best Short Film, Animated. It is about the sad and strange life of Harvie, a Polish immigrant who keeps a book of "fakts" always with him that apparently guides his life. After a childhood tragedy, he migrates to Australia, where he has a succession of menial jobs, eventually ending up in a retirement home. Along the way, he has a string of bad luck, leaving him with, among other things, a steel plate in his skull that becomes a magnet.
