REVIEW FOR GRAND FESTIVE EXHIBITION OF COTTON FABRICS
James Finlays' mill of 1907 is today, a brand name in the same league as Bombay Dyeing, with class and quality even Bombay Dyeing cannot match sometimes. The Finlays showroom, that opened in 1962 in Abids, and was taken over by the Central Government in 1982, was the first AC showroom in Abids. Now called National Textile Corporation, it stocks only pure cotton, and people come from all across AP to pick up this brand, so popular is it.
The class and quality we are talking about is the purity and incrediby light weight of the fabric. Cotton shirts priced between Rs. 495 – Rs. 900, weigh only 95 gms per piece. The gossamer dhotis of the Sacha Heera and Bracelet brands, weigh 200 gms each and come in 120/150 and 100/120 counts respectively.
Organdy saris, Shahzada Lawns, Mulls, dress material/ fabric are also around, while it's the bedsheet range that really gives the bigger brands a run for their money. They are available in king/queen size and are prized between Rs. 400 – Rs. 800. Towels that can be cut into hankies and napkins supplement the collection.
