Nutana Vidya Samithi, a group of educational institutes, is organising the closing ceremony of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, which had started on 1st Dec 2007. The event will be held at Ravindra Bharathi on 20th Nov, from 10am to 1pm.
The event will see D Purandareswari (MP) as the chief guest, addressing the audience. This will be followed by a speech by C Jagannatha Rao, the chairman of Nutana Vidya Samithi. The golden jubilee celebrations began in 2007 and went on for almost a year. Several competitions were conducted for children, and around 270 teachers (both working and retired), who have served the institutions of the group, were felicitated. The closing ceremony will see cutural programs by students from 7 institutes (5 schools and 2 colleges) under this group.
Nutana Vidya Samithi was established by Dr. G.S. Melkote, in the year 1957. The group started its activities by undertaking the LMG High School at Begum Bazar. After the demise of Dr. Melkote, C Jagannadha Rao, former deputy CM, took up responsibility as chairman of the group. The group's institutes include LMG High School (Begum Bazar), People's High School and People's Upper Primary School (Himayatanagar), New Evening High School (for the employed), New Science College, (Ameerpet), and Dr Melkote Memorial Women's College.
