PREVIEW FOR GHAZAL AND INSTRUMENTAL BY MOHD HASHEEM ALI FARMAN
Here's a kid that doesn't believe that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
And it's done him a world of good. Call him a child prodigy or an Ustad, but 9-1/2
year old Mohammed Hashim Ali Farmaan is creating waves with his talent in the
fields of both ghazals and instrumental music (through the keyboards). A student
of Ustaad Mazhar Khan (Hindustani vocal) and Vasudev Rao (the keyboards), Farmaan
started learning singing and playing at the age of three, and gave his first public
performance at Chennai when he was just six. He is a recipient of the prestigious
Ugadi Puraskar awards of the Madras Telugu Academy for his talent.
On the19th, Farmaan will present a ghazal and instrumental nite, and will be accompanied by Mohammed Mehmood Hussain on the tabla, Sampath Kumar Acharya on the santoor, Sayeed Ur Rahman on the sarangi, Dattatreya on the flute, Pandurang on the sitar and Mohammad Dawood on the dholak. Suhail S Mohammad will be the compeer.
