REVIEW FOR FROM SCULPTURE TO SCULPTURESQUE - A PAINTING EXHIBITION
There are art exhibitions. Then there are those that are good art exhibitions.
Art is not just confined to a canvas or a slab of marble. It is only confined by one's imagination. And DLN Reddy tells us how much further art can go when you let your imagination soar.
His intensely delicate "sculturesques" are 'a cumulative amalgamation of chance findings and creative process'. They bear the uniqueness of being pictorial although represented in dimensional mass and volume. Basically, that means that the artist uses simple, everyday items like perfume bottles, metal vessels, surgical implements, weaver's shuttles, electronic plates, and items of clothing. He, then, arranges them into patterns and figures. Some show predominantly sculptural properties, while others look like low reliefs.
