The Country Club is celebrating Friendship Day at their Begumpet premises, something
here after a long time after they shifted events to Medchal. Only, we'd have thought
that Medchal would have been more appropriate this time - wouldn't it be a true
test of friendship to need to go all the way to Medchal to show it? CC is showing
some of the spirit of the day itself, though - entry is free and for everyone.
A vast human chain of friends and an army brass band team of 30 members playing instrumental music with various instruments have been planned for the day. Other events planned include a signature campaign at schools and colleges, a friendship message contest and a theme fashion show by Imran Khan (of 'Runway'). An added attraction will be a helicopter showering rose petals on the participants. There are some surprise gifts for all participants.
The Club also plans to send 5,000 flowers to Prime Minister Vajpayee to mark the day. By the way, Yukta Mookhey, who was supposed to be the chief guest on this day, is not making it.
