Universal Dhun is organising the Footloose 2 dance competitions on 25th February at the Shilpakala Vedika auditorium. About 150 young dancers altogether are participating in various age groups. These participants have been selected from selections held on 15th, 16th and 17th February at the Chitramayee State Gallery of Fine Arts auditorium.
Children in the age group of 6 to 14 years will compete in the solo category, and those 15 years and above will compete in the duet and group categories for the ultimate honors. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. There are prizes of Rs. 25,000 for the winner, Rs. 15,000 for the first runner-up and Rs. 10,000 for the second runner-up in the solo category. And the corresponding prizes are Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000 in duets, and Rs. 75,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 in the group category.
There will be special performances by Harshall and Vitthal, the winning choreographers in the Nach Baliye dance competitions. With the tremendous success of the Footloose dance competitions held last year, Universal Dhun has decided to conduct the competitions this year too. With some choreographers and cine personalities expected to witness and judge the proceedings, this is a good opportunity for upcoming talent to showcase themselves.
