Shilparamam, as part of its weekend program of classical music and dance, is presenting a Kuchipudi and folk dance recital by the students of A Ramadevi, this Sunday.
The recital starts with Annamacharya's Adigo Alladigo and Muddugare Yashoda, by Manogya, Pranati, Sirisha, Alekhya, Neehal, Nikitha, Ammulu and Netra, all children below 8. Following this, there is Tillana and Alokhaye Sri Balakrishnam, by Bhavna, Sirisha, Sravani, Navya and Trisha, all seniors.
The folk recital starts with Sambaralu Sambaralu, followed by Rangu Cheera, Mama Bangaru Mama, Mokkajonna Thotalo, Madhura Nagarilo (semi-folk), Lalaguda Lambadi Pilla and Hoyilalo. Manogya, Pranati, Sirisha, Alekhya, Neehal, Nikitha, Ammulu, Netra, Vinootna, Bhavna, Prashanti, Trisha, Navya and Sravani will present the folk dances.
Ramadevi initially learnt Bharatanatyam from Korada Narasimha Rao in Eluru, and thereafter Kuchipudi from K V Satyanarayana, a famous movie choreographer. She also completed her diploma in dance from Eluru. She has given about 500 performances all over the state. Curently, she is working as a dance teacher in V S K School, Kukatpally, and also has 30 young students at her institute in Vikaspuri (A G Colony).
