REVIEW FOR FINOW - A SHORT FILM FROM GERMANY BY SUSANNE QUESTER
The Goethe Zentrum, Hyderabad chapter, is organizing Short And Sweet - A Short Film Festival, comprising a series of acclaimed short films from Germany that have won accolades and awards the world over. The German center has selected the crème de la crème of short films for all film lovers.
Finow is an independent forest state on the banks of a raging river, and its inhabitants live mainly on bananas. In order to obtain the required foreign exchange to buy the bananas, they have founded a very successful scaffolding company. Although the Finowians have to work day and night, they are happy and content in their class-free society - until confronted with the laws of a free market economy.
Finow, directed by Susanne Quester, won the Special Jury Award at the International Filmacademy Vienna Student Film Festival in 2003. Please contact Goethe Zentrum at 5552-6443, 2324-1791 for further details.
