Here's finally a lot that doesn't think much of inviting happiness in a little late. Strange, considering that they need some of it after what must undoubtedly have been a quarter of mixed feelings. For those who came in late, the most popular French teacher in town has had to shift base, and we know quite a few for whom this was a rather traumatic experience.
The Alliance Francaise d'Hyderabad is celebrating the traditional music festival to mark the beginning of the summer, under the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. The French celebrate this festival to symbolize the beginning of the summer, welcoming it to bring them good. 'Francophones' (French speaking people) across the world observe the festival on the 21st of June, but the Alliance Francaise here is celebrating it today due to the tribute to Jean Renoir held earlier this month.
As part of these celebrations, Alliance Francaise has arranged a music program where Jaywant will present fusion for you, playing a Hawaiian guitar that ultimately gives the audience the Indian classical touch. Frenchman Auger will be next with 'Celcic' music, carrying a Hindustani classical aroma. Lastly, Marthand, a music teacher from Hyderabad, will present an orchestra along with his students on the piano and the violin. The representative from the French Ministry of Culture will be the chief guest, and will speak about the importance of this festival.
