An image is worth a thousand words, it is said. Here's Narayana, deriving corresponding conversion factor in aluminium foil.
ICCR Art Gallery is conducting an exhibition of paintings by P Narayana, on the 18th and the 19th of October. Narayana comes from a village called Yellareddy in Nizamabad district. He is a retired Telugu pandit and a self-taught artist. To make the lessons interesting for his students, he used to draw pictures from the folktales which were his source of inspiration.
For this exhibition, he has used aluminum foil from tins to make 'goru bommalu'. There are also watercolor paintings on display. His paintings show the side-profiles of the characters from folktales. This is his first exhibition. He has also written books in Telugu, two of which won prizes and were published by the Telugu Academy.
