Anantaiah is organising an exhibition of paintings titled When Color Reveals Light..., from 28th January to 7th February, at the Lakshana Art Gallery. The exhibition features about 30 paintings on nature and animals.
In the present series, Ananthaiah uses colors to reveal light within light, thereby highlighting his subject. These colors show the external as well as the internal world. The images are drawn from nature, such as birds, squirrels, trees and foliage, with a luminescent glow that emanates from the chosen ones.
D Ananthaiah was born in 1953, and did his diploma in painting from IFAI, Gulbarga. He started his arts career as a graphics artist, and has recenty ventured into paintings. He has held solo shows at the Jehangir Art Gallery and Dongre Art Gallery, Mumbai; and State Art Gallery, Alliance Francaise and Max Mueller Bhavan, Hyderabad; and has participated in various group shows since 1985, in Amritsar, Mumbai, Chennai, Panaji, Kochi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Germany and New York.
He was conferred upon many awards by bodies including AIFACS New Delhi, Bombay Art Society, Telugu University, Bharath Kala Parishad, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Hyderabad Art Society and Lalit Kala Samithi.
