Celebrate European Language Day with a European film screening and a Language Mela, at the English and Foreign Language University, on 18th September. The celebration is on for the entire day, from 11am to 9pm.
The European Day of Languages (EDL), a Council of Europe initiative, is held annually to celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity of the world in general, and of Europe in particular. EDL aims to highlight the importance of language learning, to increase awareness and appreciation of all languages, and to encourage lifelong language learning.
To celebrate this event, a series of events in English, German, Esperanto, Spanish, Russian and French are being organized at EFLU. Screening of films in various European languages is part of the celebration, at the auditorium of the EFL University.
As part of the event, the Alliance Francaise Of Hyderabad is screening ‘Les Visiteurs’, a film directed by Jean-Marie Poiré, starring Christian Clavier, Jean Réno and Valérie Lemercier.
Les Visiteurs (The Visitors) is a comedy which was released in 1993, and which is based on a 12th-century knight and his servant travelling in time to the end of the 20th century, where they find themselves adrift in modern society.
Entry is free for everyone. Please contact 2770-0734 for further details.
