The Hyderabad Arts & Cultural Association is organising a musical nite, Ek Shaam Rafi Ke Naam, dedicated to the memory of playback singing legend late Mohd. Rafi, on 25th August, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan auditorium at King Koti.
Noted professional singer from Baroda Chandra Shekhar Pagedar, playback singer from Mumbai Ahmed Mirza, and city-based part-time singers like Zeba Shireen Leena, Ali Abbas, Yousuf Khan and Allah Baksh will sing popular solos and duets of the singer from old movies, like Tu Ganga Ki Mauj from Baiju Bawra, Gorian Kahaan Tera Desh Re from Caravan, Do Sitaron Ka Zamen Par from Kohinoor, Chalo Dildar Chalo from Pakeezah, and Woh Jab Yaad Aaye from Parasmani.
The Hyderabad Arts & Cultural Association was established 5 years ago by a group of Hindi vintage music lovers from Hyderabad, like Hamid Kamal and Sarwat Ali. Since then, the association has organised many musical nites dedicated to singers like Mohd Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Mukesh, music directors like O P Nayyar, R D Burman and Roshan, and lyricists like Naushad and Gulzar.
