Hoping to get a new start both in her personal and professional life, young policewoman Anne moves to the city of Rostock to serve in one of its neighborhood. She seeks to expose how unstable contemporary German society has become.
Feeling lost in the daily routine of handling petty crimes and offenses, she comes across ten-year-old Bennyt. Bennyt is sad and lonely and Anne decides to take care of the boy. She meets Benny's father, a petty criminal from Russia, and starts feeling a strange attraction towards him.
Things become even more complicated when Anne has to balance her personal involvement and professional distance in her relationship with the boy and his father.
