On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the Kamalakar Lalita Kala Bharati is organizing a Dharmika Sahitya Rupakam - a reading of the works of great poets and writers, at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, on 21st July. The timings of the program are 6pm to 9pm.
The evening is a tribute to Sadguru Saibaba, and to celebrate this, selected works of mythological writers will be narrated by 9 professors from prestigious universities. The program starts with the narration of works of the illustrous writer, Valmiki, by Dr. Sai Kamalakar Sharma, followed by the narration of Vedavyasa's writings by Achari Gacchi Reddy Venkat Reddy. M Surya Narayana Murthy will read the works of Adi Sankarulu, and Acharya Venu will explain the works of Sri Madra Manujulu.
Dr. M Mahantaya will speculate on the works of Basavavarulu and Swami Vivekananda's quotes will be explained by Dr. P Kameshwar Rao. Then, Anasuya Devi's preachings will be described by Dr. Y V Krishna Kumari, Akka Maha Devi's preachings by Dr. T Vani Kumari, and Sarada Devi's preachings by Dr. Mary Sunita Ram Mohana Reddy.
After the narration, there is a program of Bhakti songs by children of Sri Vikasa Bharathi School, a school run by Kamalakar Lalita Kala Bharati, which in turn is an institution that was founded by Kamalakar Bharati in 2004. Kamalakar Bharati also runs the Kamalakara Memorial Charitable Trust and Mamata Old Age Home, and has also established a school, Sri Vikasa Bharati School, for slum kids, in Bandalguda. The institution also teaches music to children, and provides a platform for under-privileged kids.
