Rangamani Chariar Arts Academy, in association with Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, is presenting a devotional music nite by B Vijay Kumar and M Prasanna Lakshmi, on Srimad Ramayanam, on 29th July, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha.
B Vijay Kumar is an AIR and TV artist from Khammam, and M Prasanna Lakshmi is one from Hyderabad. They will together sing 6 kavyas from Srimad Ramayanam, including Bala Kanda, Ayodhya Kanda, Aranya Kanda, Kishkinda Kanda, Sundara Kanda and Yuddha Kanda.
The chief guest for the evening is Kanamalooru Venkata Sivaiah, IAS, and the evening will be presided over by Yerneni Rama Rao, Chairman, Sthambadri Co-Op Bank, Khammam. Kala Venkata Deekshitulu, President, Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha; Ravulapati Seetarama Rao, IPS, Hyderabad; Gella Gnana Sudhakar, Co-Ordinator, Mana Telugu TV, Hyderabad; J L Srinivas, cine and TV artiste; Namavarapu Venkateshwara Rao, Retd. Officer of RBI; Mallam Ramesh, mimicry; and A Venkateshwara Rao, Retd. ASP, Hyderabad, are the other special guests.
Rangamani Chariar Arts Academy was established in April of 2007 by V L N Chariar, a 75-year-old music composer, singer and anchor, in memory of his late wife Vangipuram Rangamani. V L N Chariar is a well-known personality in cultural circles. He has been in this field since 1952, and has been conferred upon the title of Raaga Visleshana Visharada by Dr C Narayana Reddy in 2002 for completing 50 years of music composing. He is unique for organising musical nites based on classical music ragas. He trains singers to sing a particular song in different ragas.
