PREVIEW FOR DANCE PERFORMANCES BY REVATHI AND GAYATHRI RAVI
Is having two teachers for the same subject an asset or a liability? The safe
answer is that it all depends on the student. And here are two who would make
it seem a big asset.
Revathi and Gayatri Ravi, students at Dallas, USA, are having their Arangetram today. They have been trained by Revathi Sathyu (Dallas) and Rajeshwari Sainath (Hyderabad) in the Pandhanallur style of Bharatanatyam.
Revathi Sathyu and Rajeshwari Sainath were both able to train the girls at the USA because of the same Pandhanallur style that they follow. Sainath could train them while on her long tours to US.
Revathi Sathyu hails from Karnataka and migrated to US around 25 years back. She runs a dance school called the Aarti School of Dance (based at Dallas) and teaches Bharatanatyam.
Rajeshwari Sainath is a renowned danseuse from the twin cities, and is the director of the dance school 'Natarajalaya'. Rajeshwari is known for her flowery technique of pure and expressional dance marked by the Pandanallur School.
Sainath's institute is organizing this Arangetram. The chief guests on the evening will be the world famous mridamgam artist Karaikudi R Mani and Padmasri awardee Sudharani Raghupathi, a Bharanatyam exponent.
Please contact Rajeshwari Sainath at 772-6735 for further details.
