Prabhakar and his wife Padma Lalitha together teach Carnatic vocal, veena and Kuchipudi at the institute. There are seven other teachers who take care of other branches of music, such as the guitar, the keyboards, Hindustani music, light music and Ghantasala songs.
The academy is affiliated to the Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya in Maharashtra, and also prepares and trains students for music and dance certificate course exams at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.
