The Confederation Of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), a Hyderabad-based non-profit business organization promoted to bring about social and economic uplift of women through entrepreneurship, is organizing a 3-day Trade Carnival from 10th to 12th October, at People’s Plaza. The exhibition will be open from 11am to 9pm daily.
The COWE Trade Carnival 2009 is being organized with support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is the 3rd in the series of annual fairs being organized by Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs.
The Trade Carnival aims to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, widen market opportunities, have B2B interactions, and provide them networking opportunities. It offers benefits to both budding as well as existing women entrepreneurs. Specially created stalls are being offered at subsidized rates exclusively for women to display their products manufactured or traded by them, or for prospective franchise-owners.
Following the democratic philosophy of ‘By Women, Of Women, For Women”, this all-women trade body ventured out to organize its maiden trade fair in 2007. Trade Carnivals 2007 and 2008 has over 200 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. This year, the Carnival has 150 stalls.
About 150 exhibitors will exhibit products of a wide variety, that include fashionwear, handicrafts, home need products, decoration items, jewellery, household goods and many consumer durables all manufactured by women entrepreneurs. Apart from these, an exclusive arena for entertainment has been set up, that will host a number of other programs - cultural events, dance & music programs and food courts.
Exhibits are by women entrepreneurs who are in services like career counseling, medical transcription, home and house keeping, fashion designers, wedding service providers, portrait painters, food processors, and travel and insurance agents. These exhibitors are from various places, ranging from Jaipur to Bangalore, and Goa, to Madurai, as well as from various other parts of AP. ZDH Partners with the support of ZDH, an Indo-German initiative, are also among the participants.
A Loan Mela on the premises has various financial institutions, including BOI, SBH, PNB, SIDBI, AXIS, SME (Medium and Small Enterprises) Govt. of India, and NSIC others participating in it. The Loan Mela is being organized to facilitate banker-entrepreneur interactions for quicker loan processing.
