On the occasion of the Devi Navaratris, Sri Sringeri Shankar Math at Motinagar is organising a Carnatic vocal recital by Chandra Bhanu, on 14th October. Chandra Bhanu will be accompanied by Sharadachalam on the violin and Burra Sriram on the mridangam.
Starting with a G N Balasubrahmanyam's Karimuka Varada in Nata ragam, Chandra Bhanu will proceed with Muthuswamy Dikshithar's Sri Madhurapuri Viharini in Bilahari and Paramara Jana Palini in Simhendra Madhyamam, Annamacharya's Avadhara Raghupathi in Khamas, Shyama Sastry's Sarojadala Netri in Shankarabharanam, and a couple of other keertanas.
Chandra Bhanu has been learning music for almost 25 years, having learnt initially under Meenakshi Sundara Bhagavathar in Tirunelveli, and thereafter in Hyderabad under Neti Srirama Sarma for 10 years. Currently he is under D Seshachari, for the past three years. Bhanu is a B-grade artiste of the All-India Radio, and teaches sankeertanas at the Andhra Mahila Sabha during evenings. She has performed at Kakinada, Vijayawada, Palakollu, Trichur, Tirunelveli and Bangalore, in addition to many sabhas in Hyderabad.
