Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by A Bharathi Sastry, on 24th December, on the occasion of the ongoing All-India Crafts Mela. Accompanying her for instrumental support are Satyadev on the keyboards and Gunaranjan on the tabla.
Bharathi Sastry will be singing about 15 Annamacharya keertanas, such as Alamelumanga Nee Abhinava Roopamu, Ammamma Yemamma, Antayu Neeve Hari, Vasudha Chooda Binnavani, Vishwa Prakashuniki and Telisitha Mokshamu.
Sastry is a B-grade artiste of the AIR, and the daughter and disciple of V Saraswati, a veena and vocal artiste. Thereafter, she learnt vocal from her uncle Late Dr. Emani Shankara Sastry. She has performed at various concerts for the Govt of A P at the Krishna and Godavari pushkaras, and at Tirupati, Vijayawada, Srisailam and Mumbai. A cassette with the title Devi Navaratri Geetamalika, comprising a collection of songs on the Mother Goddess composed by her and Prakhya Anjaneya Sastry, was released this year.
