REVIEW FOR BODY AND SOUL - AN EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY SUKANTA DAS
Does man blend with nature? Heres someone who says he does. Vatch Sukanta Das' painting exhibition portray the relationship between man and nature. Human forms take a predominant position on his canvas but nature is given next to equal importance, to create a balance between the two.
While the maddening pace of modern existence sucks away the charm and innocence from our lives, Das recalls the humanizing factor, that can reinstate us in the primordial state, is being in the midst of nature. By moving on in life, the gaps created or the yearning and nostalgia can be addressed by the eternal Eden's of Mother Earth. Therefore, the human ‘body’ which has been until now wandering for trivial things in an absurd world, ultimately finds its ‘soul’ in the ‘body’ of nature.
